A Livestock Worker or Animal Farm Technician in Japan is responsible for the care, feeding, and management of farm animals such as cows, pigs, chickens, goats, and sheep. Workers ensure the animals’ health and welfare, assist in breeding programs, maintain cleanliness, and support farm operations to produce high-quality animal products.
Typically 8 hours per day
Around 40 hours per week
Early morning and weekend work may be required
Overtime may occur during feeding, breeding, or harvest periods
Physically demanding work, often outdoors
Animal feeding, care, and health monitoring
Knowledge of livestock breeding and hygiene practices
Ability to operate farm equipment safely
