A Well Drilling Worker or Drilling Technician in Japan is responsible for operating drilling equipment to drill water wells, geothermal wells, or construction-related boreholes. The role involves preparing drilling sites, maintaining drilling machinery, and ensuring safety and efficiency during operations. Workers may also assist in soil testing, well casing installation, and post-drilling maintenance.
Typically 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week
Overtime may be required depending on project deadlines
Outdoor work in varying weather conditions
Physically demanding labor including lifting, bending, and standing for long periods
Operation of drilling rigs and equipment
Knowledge of drilling techniques and safety procedures
Basic mechanical skills for equipment maintenance
Ability to read technical drawings and site plans
