A Heat Insulation Worker or Insulation Technician in Japan is responsible for installing thermal and acoustic insulation materials in buildings, industrial facilities, and mechanical systems. The role ensures energy efficiency, temperature control, and soundproofing according to Japanese construction and environmental standards.
Typically 8 hours per day
Around 40 hours per week
Overtime may occur during large-scale construction or industrial projects
Work may take place indoors or outdoors, sometimes in confined or elevated spaces
Installation of thermal, acoustic, and fireproof insulation materials
Knowledge of different insulation types: fiberglass, foam, mineral wool, etc.
Ability to measure, cut, and fit insulation materials precisely
Use of tools such as knives, staplers, fasteners, and adhesives
Knowledge of safety procedures and handling hazardous materials
Attention to detail and quality workmanship
Teamwork and communication skills
Prepare surfaces and areas for insulation installation
Measure, cut, and fit insulation materials according to specifications
Install insulation in walls, ceilings, floors, pipes, and HVAC systems
Ensure proper sealing and coverage for energy efficiency
Inspect and maintain insulation for damage or wear
Follow safety regulations and Japanese building codes
Maintain tools and equipment for insulation work
