An Interior Finisher or Interior Construction Technician in Japan is responsible for installing, finishing, and decorating interior surfaces such as walls, ceilings, floors, and partitions in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings. The technician ensures high-quality finishes, precise installation, and compliance with construction standards and safety regulations.
Typically 8 hours per day
Around 40 hours per week
Overtime may occur during project deadlines
Work may take place indoors or partially outdoors
Installation of wall panels, ceilings, flooring, partitions, and fixtures
Knowledge of finishing materials such as wood, plaster, tiles, and laminates
Ability to use tools such as trowels, drills, saws, sanders, and levels
Precision measurement and alignment skills

Basic problem-solving for on-site adjustments
Prepare surfaces for finishing, including sanding, cleaning, and leveling
