A Meal Processing Worker for medical and welfare facilities is responsible for preparing, cooking, and packaging meals specifically designed for patients, elderly residents, or people with dietary restrictions. The role requires strict adherence to hygiene standards, nutritional guidelines, and portion control. Workers ensure meals are safe, healthy, and meet the dietary requirements of each facility, including hospitals, nursing homes, and care centers.
40 hours per week (standard full-time schedule)
Monday to Friday, but some facilities may require shift work including weekends or holidays
Typical shifts: 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM or 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, with occasional overtime during high-demand periods.
Knowledge of food hygiene and safety standards
Basic understanding of medical or therapeutic diets (low salt, low sugar, soft food, allergen-free meals)
Ability to measure ingredients accurately and maintain portion control
Ability to operate kitchen appliances and cooking equipment safely
Attention to detail and quality control
Teamwork and communication skills
Physical stamina for standing and repetitive tasks
Prepare ingredients for meals according to dietary plans
Cook and process meals in compliance with nutritional and medical guidelines
