A Ladies & Children’s Dress Making Worker is responsible for designing, cutting, stitching, and finishing garments for women and children. This role involves working with sewing machines and hand stitching, ensuring precise measurements, high-quality stitching, and proper finishing of dresses. Workers may also assist in pattern making, fabric selection, and quality checking to meet customer and factory standards.
40 hours per week (standard full-time schedule)
Monday to Friday, some factories may require shift work
Typical shifts: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM, with occasional overtime during peak production seasons
Knowledge of garment construction, stitching, and sewing machines
Ability to read and follow patterns and design specifications
Attention to detail for stitching quality and finishing
Time management and ability to meet production targets
Teamwork and communication skills
Basic fabric knowledge (cotton, silk, synthetic fabrics)
Cut fabrics according to patterns for ladies’ and children’s dresses
Operate sewing machines to stitch garments
Perform hand stitching and finishing tasks
Inspect finished dresses for quality and accuracy
Maintain clean and organized workstations
Assist in fabric selection, pattern making, and minor design adjustments
Follow safety and quality guidelines in the workplace
Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production targets
