Job Description

An Airport Ground Handling Worker is responsible for managing and supporting aircraft operations on the ground. This includes loading and unloading baggage, cargo, and mail, guiding aircraft during taxiing, operating ground support equipment, and ensuring passenger and aircraft safety. Workers also coordinate with flight crews, follow airline and airport regulations, and provide timely services to ensure smooth airport operations.

Working Hours

  • 40 – 48 hours per week depending on shift schedules

  • Shift work required, including early mornings, nights, weekends, and public holidays

  • Typical shifts: 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM, 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM, or overnight shifts

Required Skills

  • Knowledge of airport safety, aircraft handling, and ground support operations

  • Ability to operate baggage loaders, tugs, and other ground equipment

  • Physical stamina for lifting baggage and cargo

  • Good communication skills for coordination with flight crews and ground staff

  • Ability to follow strict safety protocols and emergency procedures

  • Teamwork and problem-solving skills

Key Responsibilities

  • Load and unload baggage, cargo, and mail safely and efficiently

  • Guide aircraft to and from gates using marshalling signals or vehicles

  • Operate ground support equipment such as baggage trolleys, tugs, and belt loaders

  • Inspect and handle luggage and cargo to ensure compliance with airline standards

  • Coordinate with pilots, cabin crew, and airport staff

  • Assist with boarding and deboarding operations when required

  • Report and document any incidents or irregularities during operations

  • Follow all safety, security, and regulatory procedures
