A Welding Technician (Welder) is responsible for joining metal parts together using various welding techniques such as arc welding, MIG, TIG, and gas welding. The role involves reading blueprints, preparing metal surfaces, operating welding equipment, and ensuring strong and precise welds. Welders work in industries such as construction, shipbuilding, automobile manufacturing, and machinery production. They must follow strict safety procedures and quality standards to produce durable and reliable metal structures.
40 hours per week (standard full-time schedule)
Monday to Friday
Typical shift: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Overtime may be required depending on project deadlines or production demand
Knowledge of different welding techniques (MIG, TIG, Arc, Gas welding)
Ability to read technical drawings and blueprints
Skill in using welding machines, grinders, and cutting tools
Attention to detail for strong and accurate welds
Understanding of workplace safety procedures
Physical stamina for long hours of manual work
Teamwork and communication skills
Read and interpret technical drawings and welding plans
Prepare metal surfaces by cleaning and cutting materials
Operate welding equipment to join metal components
Inspect welds for strength, quality, and accuracy
Perform repairs on damaged metal structures
