Biomedical Engineering
A Lab/Clinical Equipment Engineer is responsible for designing, maintaining, calibrating, and troubleshooting laboratory and clinical medical equipment. This includes devices such as diagnostic machines, imaging equipment (X-ray, MRI), laboratory analyzers, and other healthcare instrumentation.
They work closely with biomedical engineers, medical staff, and research teams to ensure that equipment operates safely, accurately, and efficiently. In Japan, Lab/Clinical Equipment Engineers often work in hospitals, medical laboratories, research institutes.
Typical working hours:
8 hours per day
40 hours per week
9:00 AM – 6:00 PM (including 1-hour lunch)
Overtime:
May occur during equipment installation, troubleshooting, or critical maintenance schedules. Overtime is usually compensated according to Japanese labor laws.
