Bachelor’s degree in Botany, Plant Science, Genetics, Biotechnology, Biology, or Agriculture
Plant Physiology & Genetics professionals study plant growth, development, and genetic traits to improve crop yield, resistance, and sustainability. They conduct research on plant metabolism, gene expression, breeding techniques, and biotechnology applications. In Japan, this role is important in agriculture, food security, pharmaceuticals, and environmental sustainability. The role involves conducting laboratory experiments, greenhouse studies, and field research to analyze plant functions such as photosynthesis, nutrient absorption, and gene expression. Researchers use molecular biology techniques (DNA analysis, gene sequencing, tissue culture) to develop improved and disease-resistant plant varieties.
