A Carpenter or Woodworking Technician in Japan is responsible for constructing, repairing, and installing wooden structures, furniture, and building components. The role includes working with wood materials to build houses, furniture, frameworks, and interior fixtures while following Japanese construction standards and safety regulations.
Typically 8 hours per day
Around 40 hours per week
Overtime may occur during construction projects
Work may take place indoors or outdoors depending on the project
Wood cutting, shaping, and joining techniques
Ability to use carpentry tools such as saws, drills, hammers, and planers
Reading technical drawings and construction plans
Precision measurement and alignment skills
Attention to detail and craftsmanship
Problem-solving and repair skills
Teamwork and communication skills
Construct wooden frameworks, structures, and furniture
Cut, shape, and assemble wood materials according to specifications
