A Cultural Heritage professional is responsible for preserving, protecting, studying, and promoting cultural, historical, and archaeological assets. In Japan, this includes traditional buildings, temples, artifacts, historical sites, artworks, and intangible cultural heritage such as traditions and crafts.
The role focuses on ensuring that Japan’s rich cultural heritage is properly documented, conserved, and passed on to future generations while also making it accessible for education, research, and tourism.
Standard: 8–9 hours per day
Weekly: 40–45 hours
May include:
Fieldwork at heritage sites
Event participation or exhibitions
Research deadlines
