Job Description

A Fishing Boat Crew or Fisheries Worker in Japan is responsible for working on fishing vessels to catch, process, and preserve fish and other seafood. Workers assist in navigation, handling nets, maintaining the vessel, and storing the catch safely. The role involves long hours at sea, physical labor, and adherence to safety and fishing regulations.

Working Hours

  • Long hours at sea, typically 10–12 hours per day, depending on fishing schedule

  • Shifts may cover early mornings, nights, and weekends

  • Work may continue for several days during fishing trips

  • Physically demanding work in all weather conditions

Required Skills

  • Operation of fishing nets, lines, and equipment
