A Fish Paste Production Worker or Seafood Processing Technician in Japan is responsible for producing fish paste products (e.g., surimi), including cleaning, grinding, mixing, shaping, and packaging seafood. The role ensures adherence to hygiene, food safety, and quality standards while maintaining efficient production workflows in seafood processing facilities.
Typically 8 hours per day
Around 40 hours per week
Overtime may occur during peak production periods
Work is mostly indoors in production facilities, including refrigerated areas
Handling, cleaning, and processing seafood for fish paste production
Operating grinding, mixing, shaping, and packaging machinery
Knowledge of hygiene, sanitation, and food safety practices
Attention to detail for quality control and consistency
Ability to follow recipes and production standards
Teamwork and communication skills
Basic record-keeping and reporting skills
Prepare raw seafood by cleaning, deboning, and grinding
Mix seafood with additives or seasonings according to production standards
Operate machinery for shaping, forming, and packaging fish paste products
Inspect finished products for quality and remove defective items
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of production areas and equipment
Follow safety and food hygiene regulations strictly
Document production data and assist in reporting
