Job Description

A Ladies & Children’s Dress Making Worker is responsible for designing, cutting, stitching, and finishing garments for women and children. This role involves working with sewing machines and hand stitching, ensuring precise measurements, high-quality stitching, and proper finishing of dresses. Workers may also assist in pattern making, fabric selection, and quality checking to meet customer and factory standards.

Working Hours

  • 40 hours per week (standard full-time schedule)

  • Monday to Friday, some factories may require shift work

  • Typical shifts: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM, with occasional overtime during peak production seasons

Required Skills

  • Knowledge of garment construction, stitching, and sewing machines

  • Ability to read and follow patterns and design specifications

  • Attention to detail for stitching quality and finishing

  • Time management and ability to meet production targets

  • Teamwork and communication skills

  • Basic fabric knowledge (cotton, silk, synthetic fabrics)

Key Responsibilities

  • Cut fabrics according to patterns for ladies’ and children’s dresses

  • Operate sewing machines to stitch garments

  • Perform hand stitching and finishing tasks

  • Inspect finished dresses for quality and accuracy

  • Maintain clean and organized workstations

  • Assist in fabric selection, pattern making, and minor design adjustments

  • Follow safety and quality guidelines in the workplace

  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production targets
