A Sheet Metal Worker or Metal Fabrication Technician in Japan is responsible for cutting, shaping, assembling, and installing metal sheets and components used in construction, manufacturing, automotive, and industrial equipment. Workers operate specialized machines and tools to produce precise metal parts while following Japanese safety and quality standards.
Typically 8 hours per day
Around 40 hours per week
Shift work may be required depending on factory operations
Overtime may occur during high production periods
Cutting, bending, and shaping sheet metal
Welding, soldering, and metal joining techniques
Ability to operate fabrication machines such as press brakes, shears, and CNC machines
Reading technical drawings and measurements

Basic troubleshooting and maintenance skills

Cut, shape, and assemble sheet metal parts according to specifications
Operate fabrication machines and metalworking tools
