Job Description

A Shipbuilding Worker or Ship Machinery Technician in Japan is responsible for assembling, installing, repairing, and maintaining ship structures and marine machinery. Workers participate in building commercial ships, cargo vessels, and marine equipment in shipyards. The job involves working with heavy machinery, metal components, and specialized tools while following strict safety and quality standards.

Working Hours

  • Typically 8 hours per day

  • Around 40 hours per week

  • Shift work may be required depending on shipyard operations

  • Overtime may occur during project deadlines

Required Skills
