Student Overseas Placement Readiness
Under the clear vision and direction of the Higher Education Minister of Punjab, Mr. Rana Sikandar Hayat, an important and highly impactful meeting was held between Syed Aun Muhammad Hussain Shah and the Vice Chancellor of Okara University, Prof. Dr. Sajjad Mubin. The meeting revolved around empowering students with global exposure, overseas placement opportunities, commercialization pathways, and language skill development.
The discussion between Mr. Aun Shah and the Vice Chancellor was productive, forward-looking, and centered on practical steps to uplift the students of Okara University. The Higher Education Department of Punjab has been actively encouraging universities to develop systems that prepare students for the modern job market. This meeting is another step toward that mission.
During the meeting, Syed Aun Muhammad Hussain Shah briefed the Vice Chancellor about upcoming initiatives that will directly benefit students who aspire to study or work abroad. He emphasized the importance of Student Overseas Placement Readiness, explaining how students often miss international opportunities due to a lack of guidance, documentation support, or awareness about the requirements of foreign work and study programs.
As a major outcome of the meeting, Mr. Aun Shah announced that he will soon conduct and arrange an orientation session for students at Okara University. The purpose of this session will be to guide students in detail about:
Overseas placement opportunities
International hiring pathways
Professional grooming
Documentation readiness (CVs, cover letters, interviews)
Commercialization services and idea development
International skill-based job markets
The orientation will serve as a complete roadmap for students who wish to explore global opportunities in countries such as Japan, Saudi Arabia, UAE, South Korea, Europe, and others.
One of the most powerful elements of the initiative is that students who secure overseas placement through this platform will bear zero cost. This means that talented students will have a chance to go abroad without paying any processing fees or placement charges. It is a groundbreaking opportunity for students who may not have the financial means to pursue international careers.
In addition, the meeting included a detailed discussion on launching Japanese language courses at Okara University. Since Japan’s labor market is open and actively welcoming international youth, learning Japanese can significantly boost placement chances. A thoughtful model is being introduced where:
A portion of the Japanese language course will be fully sponsored, reducing the financial burden on students.
Students who can afford it will have the option to pay a minimal fee.
Those who cannot afford the fee will still be included through sponsored seats.
This inclusive approach ensures that no student is left behind due to financial limitations.
The collaboration between Mr. Aun Shah and Okara University reflects the broader vision of the Higher Education Department Punjab—ensuring that students are not only educated but also industry-ready, globally competitive, and equipped with the right skills.
These initiatives promise to bring meaningful change by connecting academic talent with real-world global opportunities, boosting employability, and strengthening Pakistan’s young workforce.
